Starting out a successful life can be scary and stressful, which is why it is so important to set goals early on. Here are some awesome inspirational ideas of personal goals for a woman should strive towards!
Like me, you are probably a woman striving to make the most out of life! This is why thinking about and setting life goals should be a huge priority. Goals give you a chance to look forward into your future and set a path of success for yourself.
Think of setting goals as a roadmap to your life. You wouldn’t go on a road trip without setting a destination right? Well, life works in a similar way. To get somewhere good, you need to know where it is you want to go in the first place. Otherwise, you will end up lost.
Setting goals also shouldn’t be only reserved for your new year’s resolutions. You can set goals any time of the year. In fact, it’s probably best to review them every few months and check in with yourself to make sure you are still on the right path.
This article will hopefully give you some great ideas for personal goals to set as a woman so you can live your absolute best life!
This Post Is All About Personal Goals For A Woman
Learn About Personal Finance
This is a must for absolutely every woman! As much as it sucks that we live in a world that is run by money, it’s also just a fact of life. Money is nothing to be scared of and can be an extremely powerful tool when you know how to use it properly. This is why learning to be financially literate is so so so important!
Knowing exactly how much money you make, how much you spend, and what you save and invest will give you a lot of power over your life. You will be able to spend your money without guilt, and having a savings and investment account feels extremely empowering.
There are a million free resources online that can teach you all about how to properly save and invest. You can buy books, or take a course. But my personal favorite resource to use when learning anything new is Youtube! It’s free and there are countless videos on just about any topic you are interested in. There is really no excuse to not be confident in your finances!
Analyze Your Big-Picture Career Goals
If you think about it, it’s really not very fair that at 18 years old we are supposed to know what we want to do with the rest of our lives careerwise.
But as you approach your mid to late 20s it’s important to start figuring out your long-term career goals so you know the direction your life is heading. This is also a great time to consider starting up a side hustle to see if you have a passion you want to pursue.
You don’t need to have everything 100% figured out about the trajectory of your life. But knowing your general direction is beneficial. Knowing your career goals will determine the kind of life you will have. Aligning your career path to the life you want early on can help you determine the type of life you will live.
Ask yourself what kind of life you want to have. Do you want to travel a lot? Are you more of a busybody or do you prefer to have more mellow days? Does working with other’s spark joy or do you prefer to work alone? All of these things play a huge role in picking your career, so the sooner you figure them out, the easier life will be long term.
Take A Trip Alone
Spending some time alone on a trip in an unfamiliar environment can do wonders! It can feel like such a lonely and maybe even uncomfortable experience but on the flip side, it can also be incredibly empowering.
Traveling alone, you will be able to focus 100% on what you want. This will teach you so much independence and how to rely on just yourself which is a skill everyone needs to have. You will be able to get to know yourself by figuring out what is interesting to you and what isn’t.
Your trip doesn’t have to be long. I recently went on a trip to Switzerland with my best friend, but we went our separate ways for a couple of days to do the things we wanted to do. I took a train from Zurich to Geneva, walked around exploring the historic parts of the city, stopped for lunch and had THE best burger of my life, and then just took some time to sit alone by the waterfront looking at the beauty of the city. It was magical. I came back home that day feeling proud of myself and excited that I got to know myself just a little bit more that day.
Bottom line, your trip doesn’t have to be long or crazy. Book a weekend staycation at a hotel with a pool, go on a solo hiking trip, or fly across the world and eat pasta in Italy. The best part? You get to decide!
Determine Your Ideal Health Routine
When you have motivation, starting a healthy routine is easy. But it’s even easier to fall off of your routines after going on a trip, getting busy with life, or just getting unmotivated.
Determining what your ideal healthy daily routine looks like is helpful because even when you fall off of it, you know exactly the steps you need to do to have an ideal day. The key is to pick out simple options you know you enjoy and can easily get back into. Pick out a goto healthy meal, a short walk, and a 5-minute meditation, and even on days where nothing else feels like it’s going right, you can always default to your ideal routine.
You can take this a step forward and fill out a calendar with what your ideal week looks like. Obviously, not every day will go smoothly, and you will more than likely need to carve out time for things that come up. But by knowing what a ‘perfect’ productive day looks like for you, you will never feel like you don’t know what you should be doing in any given time. This gives your days structure and helps you work towards your big life goals.
I will include an example of my ideal day calendar. I created this as a separate calendar on Google that I can turn on and off. This makes it easy for me to visualize what I need to be doing at any given time if I don’t have anything specific planned.

Learn About And Invest In Good Skincare
Learning how to properly take care of yourself can do wonders for your self confidence. And especially as you start getting older having a simple but effective daily skincare routine is very important.
Not only is skincare a great self care method, but it will also give you more self confidence. In general, figuring out what works for you in terms of flattering clothes, your ideal color pallet, as well as a simple makeup routine will elevate your look and have you feeling confident. Confidence is really the key. Taking care of yourself in ways that bring you joy and make you feel confident in your skin is one of the most important things you can learn to do for yourself.
Understand Your Relationship Limits
Knowing what you are and are not comfortable in friendships, family and romantic relationships early on should be a goal every woman sets for herself. Knowing that you have the power to say no, make informed choices for yourself, and not let anyone step all over you is one of the most important things you can do for yourself.
By knowing what you want out of life, and how the people in your life fit into that vision, will set you up for success especially when it comes to romantic relationships. There have been so many moments in my personal life where I didn’t know what I wanted out of the men I dated, and I always ended up heartbroken. So speaking from experience, especially if you are a single gal, if you figure out the type of relationships you want it is much easier to know who is and isn’t worth your heart.
This also applies to nonromantic relationships. They do say that statistically, you are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with. This is why it’s crucial that you take the time to figure out who you want in your life in the long run. It doesn’t mean you need to cut everyone out, you can also add people into your life who you aspire too.
Work On Self Acceptance
We all have insecurities, issues, and trauma. But those things do not define who you are. Learning to accept yourself and your past is essential for creating a better future.
Self reflection and accepting yourself are super important and can do huge things for your mindset. Getting to know yourself inside and out and accepting who you are will be the most liberating thing you do for yourself.
Everyone has things they are dealing with. No one is an exception. This is why comparing yourself to anyone else is not a good idea. Work on accepting who you are. And ask yourself if you are already exactly who you want to be, or are there things you can work on? (p.s most of us are in the latter category)
Journaling is a fantastic and easy way to start getting to know yourself and digging deep into who you really are. It’s really like a therapy sesh with yourself! But don’t be afraid to seek professional help if you need it, it can truly be one of the best things you end up doing for you. Just remember, you are the person you spend the most time with, so love yourself, appreciate yourself, and always strive to be the best person you know!
